Today the final of the Veterans Singles was played between Shirley Kemp and Kay Smith. It was a fine display of bowls with Shirley getting off to an early lead and Kay fighting back the whole game. After 29 ends the score was tied at 20-20. Then Shirley went ahead by 2, then over the next 3 ends Kay fought back eventually winning 25-22. Congratulations Kay and well done Shirley for a fantastic game of bowls. 👏👏Thankyou to Marie and Sally for umpiring.

The final of the Ladies B Consistency was played today in terrible conditions between Suzann Stein and Chris Barry. The players were on and off the green in between the heavy showers . Suzann defeated Chris 151-104. Congratulations Suzann and to Chris for playing in the finals .

There was only a bowl or two preventing us from finishing higher in the competition. We had a great time on and off the green. Go Cleveland.”

Final of the 4s was played Thursday 23/2/23 Judith Hamson, Sue Dodds, Kay Smith and George Moore defeating Cheryl Barr, Jackie Hanson ,Betty Clarke (sub) and Gay Pezet. 26-10

The mixed pairs final was played on Saturday between Denis Mahony & Lou Cecchin Vs the mother & son team of Tony & Susan Carter. It was a very tough game in very trying conditions with gusty north easterly winds. Denis and Lou winning 25-13. Congratulations to both teams for making it to the finals.

CONGRATULATIONS to George Moore and Judy Hamson winning the Gateway District Open/Novice pairs today at Mt Gravatt against Mt Gravatt. Cleveland entered 3 teams into this Event, and all 3 of them made it to the semi-finals. George and Judy, combined too well in the final and MT Gravatt withdrew after 8 ends, going on to win 15-2 .

"Cleveland ladies (2 teams of 4s) were runner-up at the Algester Shield on Friday 30 September, winning their 4 games. The overall winners were combined Helensvale/Musgrave Hill who scored 6 shots more than Cleveland."
